EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) is not only great for alleviating anxiety, depression and PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) symptoms, it is also a very quick and effective way to become addiction free from any and all addictive chemicals or compulsive behaviors.
EMDR utilizes the power of the subconscious mind to help you stop the compulsive, negative behavior, just like hypnotherapy does, but without long inductions. It also takes fewer sessions to achieve lasting results.
The focus of EMDR treatment is on replacing the negative behavior with consciously chosen, desired behavior. This is done by desensitizing the triggers that tend to lead to doing the negative behavior and strengthening the desired behavior in the subconscious mind. This means that all parts of your being are working toward the desired result–being addiction free. With EMDR the client learns simple tools to use between sessions to maximize success and minimize relapse.

Have you ever sought help from a doctor, counselor, treatment center or AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) about your drinking?
Have you ever experienced legal problems as a result of drinking? (i.e., arrested for a DUI?)
Even if you’ve never gotten a DUI, have you deserved to receive a DUI?
Have you ever quit drinking for a period of time, because of problems related to drinking, only to resume drinking?
Have you ever decided to stop drinking, but only lasted for a few days?
Do you ever wish people would mind their own business about your drinking – stop telling you what to do?
Have you ever switched from one kind of drink to another in the hope that this would keep you from getting as drunk?
Have you had to have an eye-opener upon awakening during the past year?
Do you ever try to get extra drinks at a party because you do not get enough?-or bring extra with you?
Do you tell yourself you can stop drinking any time you want to, even though you keep getting drunk when you don’t mean to get drunk?
